Shopify-style tipping for a WooCommerce checkout
Built a custom tipping feature for Snap & Stem's WooCommerce store, so customers can thank the florists and photographers at checkout the same way Shopify stores let them: one tap on a preset percentage, or a custom amount of their choice.
The tip is calculated from the live cart subtotal and added to the order as a proper WooCommerce cart fee, so it appears in the order totals, the order record and the confirmation emails, and works through the store's FunnelKit checkout with Moneris, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Totals update instantly over AJAX with no page reload, and the controls are designed mobile-first to sit naturally in the shop's checkout.

v1.0.0 · Live in productionEN ⇄ FR Switcher
IP-aware English / Canadian French language switcher
A custom WordPress plugin for Snap & Stem, a studio in Casselman, Ontario, that serves both English and French-speaking Canadians. First-time visitors get a bilingual welcome and choose English or Canadian French with a tactile 3D toggle, and the plugin then hands off to Weglot to serve the translated site.
It looks up the visitor's location by IP, so people in French-speaking regions such as Québec and New Brunswick are offered French first. Their choice is saved through a nonce-protected AJAX request to a 30-day cookie, so the selector never appears twice.
A settings page in the WordPress admin lets the team set Weglot's French URL path and limit the selector to the homepage. The modal is accessible (an ARIA dialog), uses inline SVG flags and is built with PHP, jQuery and CSS, with no page builder.
